Executive Biographies

Catherine M. Burzik is President and Chief Executive Officer of KCI. Prior to joining KCI in 2006, Burzik served as President of Applied Biosystems, a unit of Applera Corporation. She has also held senior positions at Eastman Kodak and Johnson & Johnson (J&J). At Eastman Kodak, her executive positions included CEO and President of Kodak Health Imaging Systems and General Manager/Vice President of Corporate Marketing. Burzik served on the Board of Directors at Cordis Corporation prior to its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. At Johnson & Johnson, Burzik ran the Critikon medical technology business and subsequently was appointed President of Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc. unit.

Martin J. Landon is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for KCI. He oversees the global finance function. In addition, he has oversight of information technology and the corporate development and strategy functions. Landon joined KCI in May 1994 as Senior Director of Corporate Development. He served as Vice President, Accounting and Corporate Controller from October 1994 until December 2002. In December 2002, he held the position of Vice President of Finance and Acting Chief Financial Officer until he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2003. Before joining KCI, Landon worked for Intelogic Trace, Inc., a publicly-held computer services firm where his last position was Vice President and CFO. Prior to 1988, he worked in public accounting with a principal-client focus on healthcare and regulated industries.

Lisa N. Colleran is President of KCI’s regenerative medicine business, LifeCell Corporation. Colleran previously served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for LifeCell with responsibility for Sales and Marketing, surgeon education, new product launches, business development, as well as leading the company's tissue services organisation. She joined LifeCell in 2002 as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations in July 2004. Prior to joining LifeCell, Colleran spent 20 years at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in various roles of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, business development and general management, with international experience. She was appointed Vice President, Marketing, for Baxter’s U.S. Renal business in 1997 and served in that role until 2001 when she was promoted to Vice President/General Manager of the company’s Renal Pharmaceuticals Business.

Mike DelVacchio is Senior Vice President, U.S. V.A.C.® Therapy Sales and Marketing for KCI. He joined KCI in 2007 as Vice President, Sales – Extended Care, and served as Vice President, V.A.C. Therapy Sales – East, as well as Vice President, V.A.C. Therapy Sales. He was promoted to his current position in November 2008. Prior to joining KCI, DelVacchio spent three years at Johnson & Johnson in marketing and sales roles for its Cordis Endovascular and CardioVations subsidiaries. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, DelVacchio held various sales management and marketing roles at Coalescent Surgical, Boston Scientific, and Airborne Express.

R. James ("Jim") Cravens serves as Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Communications for KCI. In his role, Jim has global responsibility for all of KCI's human resources and corporate communications initiatives, with a special emphasis on talent management, strategic planning and executive compensation. Prior to joining KCI in July 2004, Jim served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources at VNU (subsequently renamed Nielsen) in New York City. Jim began his career at ACNielsen in 1995 as Assistant General Counsel. While at ACNielsen, he also served in the positions of Chief Regional Counsel, Asia Pacific; Chief Human Resources Officer, Asia Pacific (based in Hong Kong); Vice President, Global Human Resources; and ultimately as Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer. Earlier in his career, Jim was a corporate and securities attorney for five years with the law firm of Sidley, Austin, Brown & Wood in Chicago (including a one-year posting to Sumitomo Corporation’s corporate legal department in Tokyo).

Michael C. Genau serves as Global President, Wound Therapy for KCI. Prior to joining KCI in July 2009, Genau served as Vice President and General Manager of GE Health Care’s Global Diagnostic X-Ray division where he led the global business to achieve profitable growth in radiology and primary care. He also held executive-level positions at GE Health Care in its Maternal Infant Care, Clinical Systems, and Information Technology divisions. Prior to GE, Genau served in various executive-level sales, marketing and operational positions with Johnson & Johnson.

TLV Kumar is President of Kinetic Concepts, Inc. EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and Latin America. Prior to joining the company in 2007, Kumar served as President of Applied Biosystems, Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. At Applied Biosystems, a leader in providing basic and commercial research and standardised testing for life sciences companies, Kumar managed the integration of all territories within the Asia Pacific region, with annual revenue of more than $330 million. Additionally, he oversaw the successful turnaround of the Japanese operations delivering growth and profitability after several years of decline. Kumar also spent 12 years with Royal Philips Electronics in their Healthcare operations. He most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Philips Medical Systems, Asia Pacific, overseeing marketing, product management, customer service and supply chain for a business with annual revenues of more than $1 billion. He started his career in India in varying positions managing the electronics and healthcare portfolios of Blue Star Limited for nearly two decades.

Michael G. Schneider is Senior Vice President, Operations for KCI. Before joining the company in 2007, Schneider worked for Applied Biosystems where he most recently served as Division President, Global Services & Supply Chain. While at Applied Biosystems, he was a key member of the executive team and was instrumental in revamping processes and procedures which drove a significant improvement in revenues and gross margins. Schneider previously served as Chief Operating Officer and subsequently Acting Chief Executive Officer at Chromavision Medical Imaging. Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years with Eastman Kodak in a wide variety of worldwide operations and service roles.

Stephen D. Seidel is President, Global Therapeutic Support Systems, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. In this role, Seidel has global oversight for KCI’s legal, health economics and reimbursement, government affairs, compliance, human resources, communications and corporate services functions, and the Therapeutic Surfaces Division. Before joining KCI in April 2005, Seidel served for eight years as Managing Director of Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated, a business and litigation law firm based in San Antonio, Texas, with 115 attorneys and more than 200 employees. While there, Seidel served KCI as lead outside counsel in a variety of commercial transactions and securities offerings.

Lynne D. Sly is Executive Vice President, Japan and Office of CEO. She is currently based in Tokyo, Japan. Sly joined the company in 2001 as Vice President of KCI USA Marketing. She served as President, KCI Therapeutic Surfaces from 2005 to 2009, functioned as Interim President of KCI International from April 2007 to December 2007, and oversaw KCI’s Canada operations. Prior to KCI, Sly was employed with Roche Diagnostics for 19 years in various sales and marketing roles.
